Karate gold medallist Kh Roshni accorded warm reception

IMPHAL, Nov 11 : Khangembam Roshni who earned India a gold medal at the 5th South Asian Cadet, Junior and Senior Karate Championship, held in Dhaka, Bangladesh from November 7 to 9, was accorded a warm reception upon her arrival at Imphal today by members of Manipur Amateur Karate Do Association besides Manipur Olympic Association secretary, Sunil Elangbam. Roshni's well wishers and sports enthusiasts from her birthplace, Saiton Salan Konjin also joined the reception ceremony.
It may be recalled that Roshni Chanu, born to Khangembam Mani Meitei and Khangembam Ongbi Anita Leima of Saiton Salan Konjin, Bishnupur district won a gold medal in the 54 kg kumite event at the said championship to become the first player of Manipuri origin to win an international karate gold medal.
Roshni is a trainee of ISKF Dojo of Patsoi Part I under coach, Sensei Soibam Bindeshori and Shihan Mutum Bankim.
