IMPHAL, Nov 11: Sagolband A/C MLA RK Imo has opined that it is time for all the political parties to take a united stand against the threat posed by the Framework  Agreement signed between the NSCN (IM) and the Government of India, instead of playing blame game.
He made the statement during an alert sit in protest which was organised at Sagolband Lainingthou Khamlangba community hall today by SYDA Club and Sagolband Constituency Progressive Committee (SCPC) today.
Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of the protest, RK Imo said that it is imperative to take a concrete stand in the interest of the State wheter one is in the Ruling or Opposition. It is important for the State Government to act in a logical manner and take more responsibility by representing the people and pressuring the Centre to dispel the apprehension which is clouding the minds of the people.
The State Government must also demand the Centre to disclose the terms and conditions of the agreement before a final pact is signed, he said.
Expressing belief that the Central Government will not go against the sentiments of the people, the MLA opined that the  State Government must not rest easy and instead must make sure that the wants and aspirations of the people of Manipur are respected as well.
RK Imo further stressed on the importance of unity and coordination between the various political parties, the CSOs in the State and the people.
He then implied that no kind of accord or agreement can be done without the involvement of the Prime Minister as he is the ultimate authority.
As such, all the political parties, CSOs and the State Government must approach the PM, he added.
He continued that the protesters have adopted several resolutions today like no finalisation of the accord without consulting the stakeholders, disclosing the contents of the Indo-Naga peace talks, no to impact on the State's integrity or administrative set up.
The MLA then demanded a reform to the Manipur Land Revenue and Land Reforms Act so as to ensure equal law in both the hills and the valley of the State.
Womenfolk , elders and many Kabui women also took part in the alert sit in. Similar sit in was also organised at Sagolband Tera Lukram Leirak by Tera Lukram Leirak Women's Welfare Association.
