24th Winners' Cup LYGSEDA seal 2-0 win in quarter final first leg against JSYC

IMPHAL, Nov 25: LYGSEDA, Longpi raised their semifinal hopes as they won 2-0 against JSYC, Sadar Hills at its home ground at Khopijang Ground Sugnu today in the quarterfinal first leg  in the ongoing Thangjam Birachandra-Maipakpi Memorial 24th Winners' Cup 2019.
Though the match witnessed a cutthroat competition between the two sides, it was LYGSEDA which emerged victorious at the end of the day. Following a 0-0 deadlock for over 35 minutes, the home team opened their account in the 38th minute via S Ngamgingou Haokip goal while their second was netted 65 minutes into the game by L Thangkhanlen.
Despite giving their best, JSYC failed to convert their chances on the way and had to see the Longpi team go up with 2 goal advantage.
LYGSEDA will visit KSYC at Brig Thomas Ground, Kangpokpi on November 28 in the decisive quarter final leg at 1.30 pm.
Lamjao FC will host KIYC, Kshetri Iril Mapal tomorrrow in their first leg semi-final match at Lamjao Kangjeibung, Kakching district at 1.30 pm.
