WYC edge past UFA 3-2 in A Iboton Memorial U-15 Boys Football League opener

IMPHAL, Nov 4 : WYC, Yumnam Khunou edged past UFA, Bishnupur by 3-2 goals in an edge of the seat opening match (Group B) of the 5th A Iboton Memorial U-15 Boys Football League-2019 at Mini Stadium Bishnupur today.
The league tournament participated by 7 teams clustered into two groups is organised by District Sports Association Bishnupur.
WYC and UFA were slow off the blocks in the opening period and entered into the break with no goals scored on either end. WYC however took a step forward with H Thoithoiba opening up the account in the 39th minute. Th Rahul put UFA back on track levelling the score in the 41st minute before L Kennedy helped WYC regain the lead in the 50th minute.
The game was at its best as Th Pritam yet again equalised for UFA in the 51st minute and interestingly the same minute saw L Nikesh break the deadlock and hand WYC the 3-2 edge. The scoreline however remained unchanged after Nikesh goal and eventually WYC earned all three points.
In the Group A opener staged latter, KYSCKL, Kha Jiri and RAFA, Thinungei had to share the spoils after playing out a goalless draw despite chances they had on both halves.
UKCCL, Oinam will take on WYC in the second Group B league match tomorrow at 12.30 pm while RAFA will play KYVO, Kwasiphai in the second Group A league match latter at 2.30 pm.
