N Hazari and Dr N Tombi State Polo: IRC-A, Chingkheihunba PC-A post emphatic wins to complete quarter final line up

IMPHAL, Nov 6 : Imphal Riding Club-A, Lamphel outlasted Tentha Polo Club 18-0 while Chingkheihunba Polo Club-A notched up an 11-4 victory against Khurai Polo Club at Mapal Kangjeibung today to ease into the quarter finals of the 35th N Hazari and Dr N Tombi State Polo Tournament.
In the first match of the day, Imphal Riding Club-A came out all guns blazing and dominated the possession and scoring chances the game throughout against the  Tentha team. L Rohit making most of the scoring with 6 goals in his name while Umesh Gurung and N Alex chipped in 4 goals each to ensure the huge win.
L Rohit scored two goals back to back within two minutes of the game while Umesh Gurung grabbed a single to make it 3-0 in the first chukker. The onslaught continued as L Rohit, S Dollar, N Alex and Umesh Gurung all fired home a goal each to add 4 more goals to their tally till the break.
The third chukker proved real trouble for Tentha side as they conceded 9 goals in the chukker itself as M Takaboi, N Alex and L Rohit carried forward the goal fest scoring three goals each before Umesh Gurung capped the game with two more goals in the last chukker.
The second match was also a one sided proceeding as Leishemba Takhellambam was on target five times and A Basanta struck thrice to help Chingkheihunba Polo Club-A see off Khurai Polo Club 11-4. Chingkheihunba Polo Club were more accurate right from the opening period to ensure a 3-1 lead with A Basanta opening up the account and Leishemba adding twice after S Jamson of Khurai Polo Club had handed his team an early lead.
L Thomson managed two goals in the second chukker and Leishemba was happy scoring a single as Khurai Polo Club drew blank.
The scoring spree continued in the third chukker as A Basanta and Leishemba added two goals each against S Jamson's single to make it 10-2. Khurai Polo Club's earned two more goals in the last chukker through S Jamson however it was too late for the team to comeback and to further their misery, E Romesh scored for Chingkheihunba Polo Club to finish the game 11-4.
X Polo Club will meet Chingkheihunba Polo Club-B in the first quarter final match tomorrow before K&MM RS-A take on MPSC-A in the second quarter final match.
