39th State Open Cash Prize Tennis Tournament: Y Thoibi to meet L Nandini for U-14 girls singles crown

IMPHAL, Nov 6 : Y Thoibi will lock horns with L Nandini for the U-14 girls singles title at the ongoing 39th State Open Cash Prize Tennis Tournament organised by Manipur Tennis Association at Officers' Club Tennis Court, Lamphel.
Y Thoibi reached the U-14 girls final with a convincing 6-1, 6-1 win against Maxila in the first semi-final match while Nandini got the better of Pooja Saikhom 7-6 (8-6), 6-2 to complete the final line up.
The day also saw completion of final line up for U-12 girls singles competition. Ananya Sharma made it to the final of the said competition beating Maxila 4-1, 4-0 while Abha Sharma thrashed Anjalika 4-0, 4-0 to set up the final clash with Ananya.
Men's Open Singles
T Brojen, Luching, Kh Indrakumar, Leelanji and H Becker were able to move into the quarter finals of the men's singles competition.
T Brojen eased past Ch Pritam 6-1, 6-0 in a pre quarter final clash staged today before Luching Lukram outlasted Azad Khan 6-2, 6-2 in another lopsided pre-quarter final encounter.
Kh Indrakumar made the hard work to win 6-4, 6-4 against Padmeshor in another pre-quarter final clash while Leelanji overwhelmed M Luikham 6-1, 6-2 to set up quarter final clash with Kh Indrakumar. H Becker topped Shushant 6-2, 6-0 to earn the quarter final berth while Rivaskar downed L Atab 7-5, 6-0 to do the same. Bhusan Haobam too reached the quarter final without breaking any sweat while Bhicky Shagolshem strolled 6-0, 6-0 past Julius Thiyam to complete the quarter final line up.
Men's Doubles
The pair of Bhicky Shagolshem and Luching Lukram produced a fine performance today to thrash Domson and Sanayaima pair 6-0, 6-1 in a one side pre quarter final clash before Ningtamba and Atab overwhelmed Julius and Selengam pair with the same margin to move into quarter finals.
Tuleshor and Premjit also eased into the quarter final beating Prakash and Paras combination 6-2, 7-6 (8-6) in another clash of the day.
