Assam CM talks Naga Accord with PM, HM

IMPHAL, Nov 8: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal held separate meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah at Delhi yesterday.
Sonowal apprised the Prime Minister of the prevailing public mood in Assam in the wake of the proposed Naga peace accord.
According to a press release issued by the Chief Minister’s Public Relation Cell, the Prime Minister assured that the Centre would keep the interests and aspirations of the people of Assam before taking any decision.
Sonowal also invited the Prime Minister for the inauguration of Khelo India Youth Games to be held in Guwahati from January 10, 2020.
During his meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the Assam Chief Minister urged the Central Government to take into consideration the interests of the people of Assam while going for any accord.
Amit Shah assuring Sonowal, said that nothing would be done which goes against the interests of the State of Assam and its people.
