39th State Open Cash Prize Tennis: Sankar wins 12 yrs boys singles title as Bhusan set up men's singles final clash with Brojen

IMPHAL, Nov 8 : Sankar emerged U-12 boys singles champion of the 39th State Open Cash Prize Tennis Tournament being organised by Manipur Tennis Association at Officers' Club Tennis Court, Lamphel since November 5.
Sankar cruised to an easy 6-2, 6-2 win against Karnajit in the final match to deservingly lift the 12 years boys title today.
Men's Open Singles
The final line up of the men's singles category was also completed today with T Brojen and H Bhusan earning comfortable wins against their respective rivals.
In the first semi-final, Brojen prevailed 6-0, 6-0 over Indrakumar while Bhusan overwhelmed Ribashkar 6-2, 6-1 in another semi-final match to complete the final line.
Doubles
The final line up for men's doubles, 45 years doubles were also completed today as the 55 years men's doubles title went to H Ibotombi and Y Ibotombi pair after their crushing 6-2, 6-1 win against N Dilip and Ksh Gopichou in the final.
H Ibotombi and Y Ibotombi reached the 55 years men's doubles final beating Sarat and Leishemba 6-3, 6-2 while Dilip and Gopichou dig deep to carve out a 6-2, 6-7 (5-7), 10-6 win against Laksmibanta and Matum pair to earn the final berth.
In the men's doubles competition, Tule and Premjit pair defeated Leeningee and Indrakumar pair 6-4, 6-4 in a hard fought semi-final match to set up  final clash with Bushan and Becker which saw off Brojen and Ribhaskar duo 6-3, 6-7 (10-8) in another semi-final clash today.
Earlier in the quarter final, Bushan and Becker pair worked hard to seal a 6-4, 3-6 (11-13) win against Bicky and Luching. Meanwhile, Tule and Kangjamba pair will be meeting Rakesh and Aldrin pair in the 45 years men's doubles final. Tule and Kangjamba combined well to beat Ningtamba and Chouba pair 6-2, 6-2 and booked the final berth while Rakesh and Iboton got the better of Jayanta and Aldrin 6-4, 6-0 in another semi-final clash to move into the final.
