24th Winners Cup; LYGSEDA go 1-0 up against MPSC in semi-final first leg

IMPHAL, Dec 1 : LYGSEDA, Longpi were able to earn a 1-0 lead against MPSC in a semi-final first leg of the Thangjam Birachandra-Maipakpi Memorial 24th Winners Cup for Men-2019 at their home ground, Khupjam Ground, Khupijang.
The match which was staged 10 minutes latter from original schedule saw the two sides give their best to making their final chances high. The two sides had a cautious start and their defence line had to do the hard work to keep the game goalless till the break.
LYGSEDA however entered the field with more purpose and better understanding and with cheers by home fans giving them a morale boost, they broke the deadlock in the 67th minute through Seiminthang Baite. MPSC were close to level on few occasion but lack in composure held them back and eventually LYGSEDA finish the leg 1-0.
MPSC will have now to be very careful when they host LYGSEDA on December 4 at 1.30 at MPTC, Pangei Ground.
LYGSEDA's Lal H Pudaite (18'), Thangkanlen (25'), Thangminlun (81') and Mark L Touthang (85') and MPSC's Roshan (22') were yellow carded by the referee for unsporting behaviours.
