MANPAC hails Amit Shah, cease work stir relaxed

IMPHAL, Dec 9: The MANPAC has hailed Union Home Minister Amit Shah for his declaration in the Lok Sabha today that Inner Line Permit System would be extended to Manipur and  Manipur would be protected from the Citizenship Amendment Bill.
Welcoming the Union Home Minister’s announcement, MANPAC convenor Yumnamcha Dilipkumar said that a public meeting would be held at the office of AMUCO at 11 am tomorrow to discuss the latest developments regarding CAB.
In view of the public meeting scheduled tomorrow, MANPAC’s call for suspension of daily activities has been relaxed, he said.
While conveying gratitude to all the people who responded to and supported its call for suspension of daily activities, Dilipkumar appealed to one and all to attend the meeting scheduled tomorrow.
Earlier in the day, the call of MANPAC the people to suspend all daily activities to underline the stand against CAB was effective with all the major commercial centres downing shutters and attendace in Government offices was negligible. Schools were also closed. Inter district buses and taxis too stayed off the road.
