Curfew in Shillong

SHILLONG, Dec 12
Curfew has been imposed in several parts of Shillong in view of the mass protests against the Citizenship Amendment Bill.
Curfew came into force in several areas of Shillong after the District Magistrate of East Khasi Hills district issued prohibitory orders under CrPC 144 from 10 pm onwards until further notice.
Today Shillong witnessed large scale violence where vehicles were torched by miscreants.
It may be mentioned that Shillong since last many days is witnessing huge protest against the implementation of CAB.
Meanwhile, police and security has been intensified in Iewduh (Bara Bazar) in view of the prevailing situation.  Internet service has also been banned for 48 hours.
