Meghalaya: Minor gangraped by 3 teens

TURA, Dec 28: A Christmas day turned sour for a 16 years old girl after she was allegedly sexually assaulted by three teens, all of whom claimed to be below 18 years of age. The juveniles surrendered today at the Tura Women’s PS in West Garo Hills after they allegedly committed the heinous crime on a Holy Day. According to reports available, the incident occurred on Dec 25 (Christmas Day) during the night after which the three suspects abandoned the girl after taking turns raping her. The 16 year old was home during the time when the three boys forcefully took her from her house to the nearby jungle where they forced themselves on her. A case was filed by the victim after she went to the local hospital and the doctor informed the police on the matter.
The three suspects however were absconding after knowledge of their misdeed became widely known. Police confirmed that a team of policemen had been on the lookout for the boys after the incident. “They surrendered today at the Women’s PS. All the 3 involved claimed to be below 18 so they have been forwarded to the Juvenile Justice Court. Earlier there was a manhunt to nab the 3 accused in the case,” said superintendent of police, WGH, Dr MGR Kumar. TNT
