MMWO celebrates foundation day, backs MANPAC on CAB

IMPHAL, Dec 8: Manipur Muslim Welfare Organisation (MMWO) celebrated its 9th foundation day today.
The celebration at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen was attended by Adyaksha Thoubal district Hasina Begum, MMWO president Abdullah Fundreimayum, Up-Adyaksha Kakching district Md Najimuddin, Keirao Makting ZP Member Pukhrimayum Dilela Begum, Kwakta Municipal Council Chairperson Minarjan, Thoubal Moijing Pradhan Md Abdul Waris, Pradhan Wangkhem GP Md Fazal Khan, advisor MMWO Hassimmuddin, advisor and former president AMUCO Ito Tongbram, executive member Bar Council of Manipur Advocate Rabi Khan and UCM president Sunil Karam.
Speaking at the event, MMWO president Abdullah Fundreimayum said that MMWO was established for welfare of the muslim community in Manipur.
MMWO has been launching agitation and protests against Citizenship Amendment Bill. The organisation and its all branches have been denouncing the Bill and had also submitted memoranda against the Bill to Governor, he said.
The Bill which is likely to be tabled on Monday is a threat against the indigenous people of the entire North-East. MMWO and its units will continue to support MANPAC (Manipur People Against Citizenship Amendment Bill) which is vociferously opposing the Bill, he added.
