CM launches Imp-Dpr flight

Imphal, Dec 7 (DIPR): Chief Minister N Biren Singh launched a new direct flight service between Imphal and Dimapur at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport today.
Speaking as chief guest of the function, the Chief Minister expressed his happiness over the launching of Imphal-Dimapur flight service which is being operated by Alliance Air, a private airlines company.
Biren said that better connectivity would build deeper connections among the people of the two States.
The Chief Minister asserted that the flight service would be operational thrice a week. He announced that the Alliance Air has promised to operate daily flight service between Imphal and Dimapur in the next 2-3 months.
Minister for PHED Losii Dikho, Minister for Fisheries N Kayisii, Chairman of Tourism Corporation of Manipur Limited Dr Sapam Ranjan, Chief Secretary Dr J Suresh Babu, Commissioner Transport M Harekrishna, Director Transport Mercina Panmei, CEO of Alliance Air CS Subbiah and others attended the inaugural function. Later, the Chief Minister along with his Cabinet Ministers inspected the preparations being made for the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe at Maibam Lotpa Ching, also known as the Red Hill at Bishnupur District.  Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe are likely to visit Manipur on December 17.
During the visit, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe would pay tribute to the Japanese soldiers killed during World War II in Manipur at Imphal Peace Memorial located at Maibam Lotpa Ching, Bishnupur district.  Chief Secretary, Addl. Chief Secretaries, Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners of Imphal West and Bishnupur district, top civil and police officers accompanied the Chief Minister during the inspection.
