FVWA, PUPU register comfortable victories in 21st Challenge Cup Veteran football tournament

Imphal, May 9: FVWA, Mapal Kangjeibung and PUPU, Pungdongbam registered comfortable victories in their Group E matches in the ongoing 21st Challenge Cup Veteran Football Tournament, 2019 today at Khuman Lampak Turf ground.
In the first match, FVWA, Mapal Kangjeibung defeated AVFA, Akampat 4-2 powered by two goals through Khupneingam Kom (1', 25') and one each by RL Benjamin (10') and Ahmun Kom (48').
For AVFA, Akampat, K Premjit (38') and L Bijukumar (59') scored the two goals.
In the second match, PUPU, Pungdongbam blanked VFC(B), Singjamei 3-0 in a one sided match.
L Landon gave PUPU the early lead in the 2nd minute of the game while N Nobin sent in two successive goals in the 9th and 11th minute to wrap up the match with convincing 3-0 win.
NCVFC, Churachandpur will face UKFC, Uripok tomorrow in a Group B match at 2.30 pm at Khuman Lampak Turf ground while TBSFA, Taobungkhok will meet FC Eimiveterans, Game Village in another Group B match at 4 pm.
