IMPHAL, May 10: Saying that innovation is an important aspect of work, Manipur University Administrator Jarnail Singh has urged the youths, particularly students to use their innovative ideas whenever they work in their respective fields/trades.

Stating that one must try to perform what he/she is expecting and become a performer, the Administrator went on to point out that Government sector wants good performers.
It is heard that the employability of the engineering and management students produced from Indian institutions are 'low'. There must be certain factors for that and the reasons must be found out and emphasized on addressing the problems for bringing improvement, he said.
While lauding the organizers for organizing the workshop, Jarnail Singh expressed hope that many new and insightful knowledge will surfaced during the workshop.
Delivering presidential speech at the function, NDIM, Delhi Chairman Dr VM Bhansal stressed on the importance of acquiring the skills for employability.
One should try to meet the things that will be required in the future rather than thinking that the degrees obtained by him/her will take her to employability.
A student should produce all the knowledge and skills that he learned in his/her life in meeting the requirements for employability, he said.
Meanwhile MIMS, MU Director Professor Ch Ibohal Meitei who attended as the guest of honour highlighted that only few percent of the professional graduates and general graduates produced every year in India are suitable for employability due to lack of certain skills, like communication and soft skills.
Noting that the entire dynamics of employability has been changing very fast in these days, he observed that special emphasis must be given towards employment generation in the State to counter unemployment problem.
NDIM, New Delhi Registrar Professor Teena Singh also attended the function as guest of honour. Many professors and experts have also spoke on various topics related with management in the technical session of the workshop which was held later.
