FC Eimi edge past TBSFA 3-2 in 21st Challenge Cup Veteran Football

IMPHAL, May 10 : FC Eimi Veterans, Game Village held off TBSFA late charge to earn a 3-2 win in a Group B league match of the 21st Challenge Cup Veteran Football Tournament 2019 organised by Manipur Veteran Football Association at Football Turf Ground, Khuman Lampak today.
FC Eimi took off the game on a positive note as Hencha Kipgen found the breakthrough early in the 3rd minute before Thongkhogin doubled the lead in the 13th minute of the match. TBSFA however pulled back a goal in the 21st minute and made it 1-2 at the break.
FC Eimi returned quick after the restart and regained the two goal lead with Thongkhogin scoring his second in the 33rd minute and the went on to hold their fort as TBSFA struggled hard to recover themselves. TBSFA successfully cut the margin when M Bhumeshor beat FC Eimi keeper in the 39th minute but their latter threats were tackled off well by FC Eimi defenders helping their team sealed a 3-2 win.
Earlier, NCVFC, Churachandpur were handed a walk-over as UKFC, Uripok did not turn up for a Group B league clash.
