Inter GC/ Bn Handball tourney begins at Langjing

IMPHAL, May 10
The opening ceremony of the Inter GC/ Bn (Ops) Handball Tournament of Manipur and Nagaland Sector, CRPF was held today at Handball Ground of Group Centre, CRPF, Langjing Imphal.
A total of 9 teams draw from 32 Bn, 69 Bn, 78 Bn, 86 Bn, 87 Bn, 109 Bn, 143 Bn, 173 Bn and GC Imphal are taking part in this tournament which was declared open by Rajesh Kumar, IPS, IG, Manipur and Nagaland Sector, CRPF as chief guest of the opening ceremony. I Lokendra Singh, DIG, GC, CRPF, Imphal and other Senior Officers, Sub-ordinate Officers and Jawans also attended the function.
The opening match of the tournament was played between 78 Bn Kohima and 109 Bn, Mongsangei wherein the Kohima side emerged victorious by 24-06 margin.
IG Rajesh Kumar in his inaugural speech emphasized Jawans to participate such activities to keep themselves not only physically but also to bring laurel to CRPF at National and international level, said a press release issued by PRO GC, CRPF, Imphal.
The knock out tournament will continue till May 11, the release added.
