Arts topper felicitated

BISHNUPUR, May 12 : Topper in Arts stream of the recently declared Class XII Examination conducted by Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (CoHSEM), Oinam Barlin Meitei of Wangoo Sandangkhong, Kakching district was felicitated during a simple function held at Wangoo Laipham Chithek Leikai, Kakching, today.
The felicitation programme organised by Wangoo Development Committee was attended by Moirangthem Melody Leima, member, Wangoo Zilla Parishad; Loitongbam Sharat (Tona) Meitei, Pradhan, Wangoo Gram Panchayat; Amom Netananda  Singh, president, Wangoo Development Committee; social worker M Romen and several ward members of Wangoo Gram Panchayat among others.
As a token of encouragement and recognition of his hard work, a cash award of Rs 10,000  along with memento and certificate was handed over to the young student from the side of  Wangoo Gram Panchayat. A cash awards of  Rs 5,000 each were also given to Barlin by Wangoo Development Committee and Wangoo Zilla Parishad.
Speaking on the occasion, Barlin stated that he is surprised  by the result he got even though he had put his best effort while preparing for the examination.
Saying that he will continue to give his best effort in every competition and examination to become a reputable figure and contribute in the development of the State, Barlin sought blessing from the Almighty and elders to achieve his dream.
A felicitation programme for Oinam Barlin was organised yesterday also at his home -town, Wangoo Sandangkhong.
The programme jointly organised by Sandangkhong Social Welfare Youth Club (SSWYC) and Meira-paibi of the area  was attended by Ch Birendra, Asst News Editor, DD News Imphal; Lourembam Kumar, Teacher, Pinjabati High School  and elders of the locality, Ningthoujam Babuchand, Maibam  Jugindro as presidium members.
The young student was given simple gifts and cash award.
