IMPHAL, May 12: Both UNLF and KYKL have dismissed the claim of Assam Rifles that seven militants belonging to PREPAK, UNLF and KYKL have been arrested and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition in Kamjong district on May 9 as fabricated.
A press release issued by UNLF Department of Publicity Director M Sak-hen said that Laishram Prem alias Ningjaba s/o L Yaima and Nganbi of Khurai Angom Leikai deserted the party and surrendered to Indian military forces in 2017.
Assam Rifles claimed that they arrested five cadres of PREPAK, one cadre of UNLF and another cadre of PREPAK.
Since his surrender, Assam Rifles stationed Laishram Prem alias Ningjaba at the gate of their Tengnoupal camp to see people travelling along Imphal-Moreh highway.
After using him for around two years, Assam Rifles brought out Prem by enacting a ‘fake arrest’ in the name of an insurgent.
Such activity of Assam Rifles is nothing new to the people of Manipur for Indian military forces are known for fake surrender, fake encounter and fake arrest, the banned outfit alleged.
Another press release issued by KYKL Publicity and Research Secretary A Yaiphaba said that Ningthoujam Manglem alias Budhi s/o late N Kalamu of Heirok Part III had been dismissed from the party on  health ground.
Notably, Ningthoujam Manglem alias Budhi was among the seven purported militants arrested by Assam Rifles.
Categorically stating that no weapons were entrusted to Manglem alias Budhi when he was dismissed from the party, the proscribed outfit contended that the particular claim of the Assam Rifles was a fabricated one.
Indian military forces have been arresting retired or dismissed militants openly or secretly only to claim that they are arrested from some other place, the KYKL alleged.
In other cases, retired or dismissed former insurgents  were arrested and killed in cold blood only to claim that they were killed in encounters. This is one tactic of Indian military forces to create fear psychosis among the masses and keep them away from the revolutionary movement, Yaiphaba said.
The Indian military forces are a timid lot as seen during the Paraolon ambush and several other military offensives carried out in Kashmir and Maoist controlled areas.
Victimisation of former insurgents who had retired to civilian is not achievement of Indian military forces. On the contrary, it only exposes their sagging morale, it added.
