Mothers honured on International Mother's Day

IMPHAL, May 12: Indigenous Minorities Socio Cultural Organisation Manipur (IMSCOM) on Sunday celebrated World Mother's Day at its office in New Checkon, Imphal.
To mark the celebration, the organisation honoured mothers with simple gifts of appreciation.
Speaking at the event as chief guest, retired Professor Dr W Ingo encourage the mothers and said that they are hands that nurture and guide future. He also emphasised the need for integration of minority communities and thrive for inclusive development.
Yumkham Subhas and Momsokan Bapui also attended the event as guest of honour and president respectively.
AR celebrates Mother's Day
Keithelmanbi and Tulihal Battalions of 9 Sector Assam Rifles and Chassad Battalion of 10 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) commemorated this year’s Mothers Day today and carried out various activities to celebrate the day with the local populace.
As part of the commemoration activities, Lilong Company Operating Base (COB) of Keithelmanbi battalion organised a lecture cum interactive session on health at Waithou Chiru village. The lecture on “Benefits of Good Health” was delivered by the Unit Regimental Medical Officer. The locals were informed about various health related issues and associated measures to overcome them, said PRO AR.
In addition special prayers were also made for well being, good health and prosperity of the mothers. The event witnessed an attendance over 250 locals of the area, said AR. 
Tulihal Battalion celebrated the day by felicitating Meira Paibis. The event appreciated and honoured the Meira paibis for their fight against drug abuse, crime against women and various other initiatives for the society. Over 30 Meira Paibis from different villages were felicitated in the ceremony for their selfless dedicated devotion to the well being of the civil society, said AR.
Chassad Battalion organized a special event at Nampisha to celebrate the day. The celebrations commenced with prayers for peace and harmony followed by interaction with the womenfolk of remote border villages. The village authorities and Pastors attended the event, added AR.
