Patriotic poetry recitation competition held

Thoubal, May 12: Kha Maikei Ngakpa Apunba (KMNA) organized a patriotic poetry recitation competition for students in connection with Wangkhei Meiraba memorial day at Auditorium of Library and Information Centre, Kakching  Phoushupat Leikai today.
The competition was categorized for different students reading in different classes.
For students studying in Class VI to VIII, Naorem Muskan Devi, Kakching Public School, Kakching secured the first position while Moirangthem Alexander, Grace Cottage Academy, Kakching settled at second position and Sanabam Nganthoi, MMS Genus Academy, Kakching finished at third position.
For Class IX and X students, Thingujam Khedananda, Padama Ratna English School, Kakching emerged winner of the competition in this category while Mayengbam Reshma Chanu, Kakching Higher Secondary School, Kakching came in second position and Ksh Jelina, Padama Ratna Englishi School, Kakching secured the third position.
All the winners in the competition were honoured with attractive prizes while consolation prizes were also distributed to the other participants.
The function was attended by Y Surchandra, MLA, Kakching AC; Naorem Shanjitkumar, chairperson, Kakching Municipal Council; and Pukhrambam Shanahal, councillor Kakching Municipal Council as presidium members.
