JAC formed, resolves to drive out accused of rape attempt

Bishnupur, May 13: A public meeting, in connection with the alleged rape attempt on a minor girl of the same locality by Henam Robindro (47) s/o Henam Mohindro of Oinam Nongthombam Leikai, Bishnupur District on May 7, was held at Oinam Awang leikai Community Hall today.
During the meeting, which was organized by the members of various Clubs, Meira Paibis and organizations of Oinam, a JAC was formed and elected convenors to bring the issue forward.
Speaking to the media persons, JAC Convenor, Mutum (o) Roma said that the villagers resolved to drive out the rape attempt accused Robindro and his wife from the village to prevent such crime repeating in future while adding that the villagers also amicably took decision to take appropriate action against those persons who try to provide shelter to the accused.
