IMPHAL, May 13 : Rongmei Students' Organisation Manipur (RSOM) has demanded all the recruitment process for 70 teaching and non teaching posts of Eklavya Residential Model School (ERMS) Tamenglong to be cancelled and a new recruitment process to be organised in its stead at the earliest.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, RSOM general secretary Jeanthui Panmei said that news was received regarding approval for the recruitment process for 210 (70 for school) teaching and non teaching posts for ERMS Tamenglong, Moreh and Sapermeina.
But the process for recruitment of 70 posts for ERMS Tamenglong was kept all hushed and quiet, Jeanthui Panmei alleged, adding that it is shocking how the staff were selected without any form of advertisements or notification on local dailies and that too, at a time when the election Model Code of Conduct is in force.
The general secretary also claimed that even the DC had no idea about the whole matter when approached and strongly condemned such unethical behaviour of all those concerned when it comes to the matter of education in the State.
Demanding immediate cancellation of the recruitment of the 70 posts, Jeanthui Panmei demanded the State Government to make arrangements for a new recruitment.
If all of the demands fall to deaf ears, RSOM will launch various forms of democratic agitation, the general secretary warned.
