NCVFC down TBSFA 2-0 in 21st Challenge Cup

IMPHAL, May 14 : NCV-FC, Churachandpur eased to a 2-0 win against TBSFA, Taobunghok with the help of late goals by Rouchung and Rosangliana after a goalless first half in a Group B league match of the 21st Challenge Cup Veteran Football Tournament organised by Manipur Veteran Football Association, at XI Star Sporting Union Ground, Akampat today.
It was a tightly contested match as both NCVFC and TBSFA looked to earn second win at the tournament but the first half came to an end with no goal being scored on both ends.
NCVFC and TBSFA gather momentum in the second half and both could made their way into dangerous areas a few times but the lack of creativity in finding the finishing touch denied the two sides from having the lead until Rouchung struck in the 55th minute.
The game looked almost wrapped up after the goal and it was Rosangliana who grabbed another during the injury (60+1') and helped NCVFC finish the game in style.
AMBA, Cheirap Court will meet FVWA, Kangjeibung in a Group E league match tomorrow while AVFA, Akampat will take on PUPU, Pungdongbam in another Group E league match at XI Star Sporting Union Ground, Akampat.
