One day legal orientation program conducted

A one day legal orientation program under the theme 'Legal assistance to the family members of the prisoners' was organised at the conference hall, MASLSA, ADR building, Lamphel Court complex today.
The event was organised as part of the Statewide campaign to provide free of cost legal assistance and other services to the family members of the prisoners by MASLSA starting from May 1.
Speaking on the occasion, Member MASLSA G Gaiphulshillu said that the program also aims to provide legal aid to the family members and dependents of those individuals who are imprisoned in connection to some case.
Meanwhile, Sadananda Sorokhaibam, Deputy Secretary MASLSA provided a detailed overview of the campaign objectives, implementation steps, timeline, outcomes and manner of conducting interaction with inmates. W Birahari Singh, Deputy Director, Social Welfare Department enlightened the gathering on several welfare schemes and benefits  and the importance of possession of social security cards to access benefits.
Heavy rain likely on May 15

The Regional Meteorological Centre, Guwahati has informed that thunderstorm with gusty wind speed (30-40) kmph and lightening is likely to occur at isolated places over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura today and tomorrow.
The notification issued by Duty Meteorological Officer for  DDGM, Regional Meteorological Centre, Guwahati stated that heavy rain is very likely to occur at isolated places over Manipur and Tripura on May 15, over Arunachal Pradesh today and over Assam and Meghalaya today and tomorrow May 15.
