AFC Grassroots Football Day observation underway

IMPHAL, May 15 : AFC Grassroots Football Day observation organised by All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) kicked off today at Mapal Kangjeibung as a part of the celebration held across Asian countries with the aim of producing eminent players from grassroots stage.
The opening function of the observation which will continue till 19 of this month was attended by Salam Sanatomba, president, AMFA; Rajkumar Sanayaima, secretary, All Manipur Sports Association; important members of AMFA; Grassroots Leaders from various Grassroots centres and grassroots players.
A weeklong observation of AFC Grassroots Football Day also began at Eastern Sporting Union ground today. The inaugural function of the event organised by ESU in collaboration with Tata Trust, CML and State Government was graced by Armstrong Pame, Director Youth Affairs and Sports; Anju T, Head of Grassroots Programme, All India Football Federation and AFC Grassroots Development Panel; Bishwanath Sinha, Head of Sports Tata Trust and RK Nimai, secretary, Eastern Sporting Union as dignitaries in the presence of club members, grassroots leaders, players and parents.
The event also witnessed players being imparted new skills by grassroots leaders.
