27th State Youth Basketball C'shipYPHU win 45-35 to end Model Club's campaign, BSC beat CYLC 42-34

IMPHAL, May 15 : Young Physique Union registered a 45-35 win against Model Club to ensure their place in the last 4 round of the 27th State Youth Basketball Championship for boys and girls which is underway at Model Club Basketball Court under the aegis of Manipur Basketball Association. BSC which went down in the hands of ESU in a Group B league match yesterday managed a 42-34 win against CYLC in another match of the day.
In the second Group A league match of the tournament staged today, Young Physique Union (YPHU), Lalambung displayed their superiority over Model Club by dominating throughout the game. YPHU led the first quarter 12-7 before taking a narrow 20-18 lead in the second quarter. It was 35-27 in favour of YPHU in the third quarter before sealing the game 45-35.
Tanson Kh made the most of the scoring for YPHU as he gathered 28 points alone while Krishnacharya, Jetli K and L Nikash added 8, 7 and 2 points respectively to make it a total of 45 points for the team at the end.
On the other hand, P Gaynary fetched the highest 12 points for Model Club while W Naoba (6), Ng Martin (4), Harson (4), M Mahesh (1) and Ksh Naoba (1) made up the remaining points.
Meanwhile in the Group B league match, Th Ronel did the star turn for BSC as he scored 15 points alone to give his team a 42-34 win against CYLC, Chingamathak. Christco also contributed 13 points for BSC in this match which saw Birbal, Y Chanba and Ch Algoo scored 4 points each for the same team. H Devaraj also added 3 points to BSC's tally. K Walter (13), A Nisanta (7), L Shivananda (6), Yunus (4) and Revoljit (4) made their names on the scoresheet for CYLC.
