SDJM felicitates its 13th position holder

IMPHAL, May 16 : Managing Committee of Shree Digamber Jain Mahavir (SDJM) Higher Secondary School, Ghari felicitated the Dinajit Mangang, who is the student of the school and the 13th position holder of the recently declared class XII examination in Science stream.
Dinajit was accorded a warm welcome at the school premises in Ghari Awang Leikai today.
His hard work and dedication was appreciated with citation and a cheque of Rs 50,000 by the school.
Speaking on the occasion as the chief guest, All Manipur Recognised Private Schools Welfare Association Ch Shyamchandra Singh said that passing the class XII examination is only the  beginning of a student's career path adding that there are several stages that a student has to go through in the academic field.
Maintaining that students as well as the parents consider the class X and XII examinations as the end of a student's career, he added that students should be engaged in every competitive examinations and be competitive in a healthy manner.
Shyamchandra went on to state that students and parents often emphasis too much on getting a seat at coaching/ tuition centres however, the time that a student invest in digesting the lesson is considered secondary.
Conveying that an all round development is necessary in a student's life, he remarked that involving in extra curricular activities and sports is also important to keep the body and mind healthy.
Meanwhile, English teacher of the school Nongthombam Rameshwor said that the school is one of the oldest institute in the State adding that although Arts and Commerce streams are  opened in the school long time back, the Science stream was established in 2011-12.
He informed that this is the first time that a student from Science stream has clinched a position in the top 20.
SDJM Higher Secondary School Ghari president and All Manipur Recognised Private Schools Welfare Association advisor N Tomba along with general secretary of Ghari Youth Club, Ghari Awang leikai Ph Premananda Singh were also present in the felicitation function.
Students of the school who passed and scores high marks in the class XII examination were also presented with simple gifts.
