Ukhrul, May 16: A philanthropic and charitable Tangkhul woman of Ukhrul is hosting Love Feast to feed all the disabled persons across the State  and show her 'equal love and concern for them'.
Ningkhalem Shimrah will host the grand feast on May 31 as "Love and Prayer Day", a gathering of all differently abled persons under one roof. She will prepare  the food and dine with them together 'signifying her whole hearted love'.
Ningkhalem Shimrah who is in her 60s hails from Alungtang Ukhrul and is a Govt school teacher.
Ningkhalem Shimrah and her husband have three sons, two daughters. All the men in her family are differently abled persons. She has been facing immense hardship and difficulties caring for her family members but she has never doubted her love for them, Ningkhalem said.
She was deeply depressed seeing her children grow up in isolation from their friends. This changed her and gave her courage to fight for them, Ningkhalem said.
The differently abled persons, irrespective of their cast, face the same struggle, she said advocating that they should be treated equally with love, care and compassion. She said she wishes to organise more events in future to encourage them and show that they are loved.
Ningkhalem further informed that she has also established "Blessed Home" at Alungtang, Ukhrul which provides free accommodation to help and assist all needy peoples especially differently abled persons in case of medical treatment and emergency work at Ukhrul town.
Interested families and differently abled persons can contact her for participation in the Love Feast on mobile number 9366742807 and 8731991571. She appealed all religious leaders of the State to hold special prayer on May 31 for all differently abled persons.
