Monsang tribe bereaved

IMPHAL, May 17: Noted Monsang tribe folk singer and historian Ng Benou passed away in Imphal on Friday after a short illness, reports NNN.
Following the demise of Ng Benou, the people of Monsang tribe under the aegis of the tribe’s apex body, i.e. Sirti Upa Ruh (SUR) or Monsang Tribe Union, Monsang Women Union or SSR, Monsang Student Union or STS and Monsang Chiefs’ Association or SER expressed their grief.
Ng Benou hailed from Monsang Pantha village.
According to the Monsang organizations, Ng Benou was well versed in customs and traditions of the Monsang tribe. The Monsang bodies also said that Ng Benou was a tall leader who was respected by the community.
In their condolence message, the Monsang organizations said that the “sad demise" of Ng Benou is a great loss to the Monsang community.
