HSLCE 2019 results declared; 74.69 pc makes the cut

IMPHAL, May 18: Results of HSLC Examination 2019 conducted by Board of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (BoSEM) were declared this afternoon with the aggregate pass per-centage touching 74.69 which is the highest in the last 10 years.
Notably, the pass percentage recorded in HSLC Exam 2018 was 73.18.
Bhumika Shamurailatpam  of Pitambara English School, Kwakeithel topped the merit list with a total score of 572 marks.
She is a daughter of Sh Tomba Sharma and Sh Shanti Devi of Kakwa Naorem Leikai.
Scoring identical 567 total marks each, Sophiya  Asem of Bright Career Aca-demy, Thiyam Leishang- khong and Arvind Maibam of Tiny Tots’ Unique School share the second position.
Moirangthem Julendia Devi of St Thomas School, Kontha Ahallup who scored a total 566 marks is placed in the third position of the merit list. 
In terms of the number of students who made it to the merit list of top 25, Tiny Tots’ Unique School performed the best with eight of their students making it the list.
Nirmalabas School has seven students in the merit list while Catholic School, Canchipur and St Joseph’s School, Sangaiprou have the third highest number of students in the merit list.
Both the schools have six students each in the top 25 merit list.
Little Flower School and Heritage Convent, Uripok each have three students in the merit list.
The results were officially announced by Edu- cation Minister Th Radhe-shyam at the conference hall of BoSEM at 3 pm.
He said that this year’s pass percentage is the highest since 1973 and this is a result of the collective efforts of board members, teachers and student organisations.  
Radheshyam said that Moirangpurel High School is the only Government school which scored 100 per cent success.
The aggregate pass percentage of all Government schools is 53.77 as compared to last year’s 50.99.
BoSEM Chairman Th Kirankumar said that they encountered certain difficulties in holding HSLC Exam 2019 as both the Controller and the Secretary joined the board just before the exam.
He said that he is nonetheless happy for successfully and smoothly holding the exam and declaring its results within a short time.
BoSEM Secretary Dr Chithung Mary Thomas and Controller of Examinations K Tiken were also present at the gathering. 
Out of 37138 students who appeared the HSLC Exam 2019, 27,740 candidates cleared the exam.
District-wise pass percentages are Imphal West 73.39, Imphal East & Jiribam 69.75, Thoubal & Kakching 82.09, Bishnupur 71.98, Ukhrul & Kamjong 78.02, Churachandpur & Pherzawl 75.78, Senapati & Kangpokpi 75.51, Tamenglong & Noney 67.06 and Chandel & Tengnoupal 71.41.
