TFC in 5th VSO Trophy semis

IMPHAL, May 18 : TFC, Tekcham defeated Apunba FC, Sagolband 6-4 on penalties after a 1-1 draw during regulation to seal a place in the semi-final of the 5th VSO Trophy at Tekcham HS Ground today.
W Suresh gave TFC a 1-0 lead in this evenly poised match while the equaliser came off the foot of Basanta in the 34th minute of the match.
As both teams failed to find the winner, the game was stretched to penalty shoot-out wherein TFC's W Suresh, N Leishemba, Th Borish, M Rabindra and L Somorjit found the net for a 6-4 finish as Itomba, John and Herojit could convert for Apunba FC.
Meira FC will meet Shamphabi FC in the third quarter final match on May 20.
