Thang-Ta Maheikol emerge overall champions of IW Dist Thang Ta C'ship

IMPHAL, May 19 : Thang-Ta Meheikol Yumnam Huidrom stacked up 116 points on the back 27 medals including 20 gold, 2 silver and 5 bronze to finish overall team champions of the 13th Imphal West District Thang-Ta Championship 2019 organised by Meitei Lallong Thang-Ta Cultural Association, Moidangpok Branch at Moidangpok Ibudhou Korouhanba Haraobung, Imphal West under the aegis of Imphal West District Thang-Ta Association from May 18 to 19.
Kanglei Thang-Ta Sindamshang, Maklang were able to finish overall team runners up with 107 points from 12 gold, 6 silver and 7 bronze medals at the said championship which consisted Phunaba Anishuba, Thang-Haiba, Thanglon Khonglon-Khutlon competitions for various age groups.
L Bishal Sharma of Thang-Ta Maheikol was adjudged best fighter for boys while Th Pushparani of Anjika bagged the best fighter title for girls.
Best discipline title for boys went to Ch Rishikanata of MNTCA, Moidangpok while Ak Sunanda of PAHULASI, Kwakeithel Mayaikoibi clinched the girls' best discipline player title.
The tournament featured 115 male and 66 female Thang-Ta players from across 10 units.
