Workshop on ‘Revision of State Action Plan on Climate Change’ held

JIRIBAM, May 19 : Directorate of Environment has organised a one-day district level stakeholder's workshop on "Revision of State Action Plan on Climate Change (SAPCC-Version 2)" at Community Centre, Jiribam Municipal Council, Jiribam, today. 
Speaking on the occasion, Development Officer, Directorate of Environment, Dr N Sanamacha Meetei stated that the  Central Government has taken up various measures to promote sustainable development and address the threat of climate change at National and Sub-National levels.
 National Action Plan on Climate Change (NAPCC) was formed in 2013 to protect the poor and vulnerable sections of the society through inclusive and sustainable development strategy, he added.
Stating that the Directorate has been conducting series of interactive programmes with different stakeholders for revision of SAPCC in the State,  Dr Sanamacha conveyed that the workshop aimed at providing platform to share knowledge on issues related to climate change.
Kh Janaki Devi, Adhakshya, Jiribam; N Mohendro Singh, Advisor, State Climate Change and former member of steering committee, NER Vision, 2020, DONER, GoI ; Dr Ng Ibotombi Singh, Joint Director, Vet and AH; Kh Nimaichand Singh, Assistant Project Officer, Department of Agriculture; Virendra Rajkumar, Assistant Engineer; S Shanti Devi, Chairperson, Jiribam Municipal Council, Jiribam and P Ibochouba Singh, Board member, Khadi and Village Industries also attended the programme.
