Tree saplings planted as part of Sunday Eco-Club prog

Kakching, May 19: Alliance for Development Alternatives Manipur (ADAM), Kakching and Angan Ching Eco-Park Management Committee, Kakching together with students planted memorial trees at Angan Ching Eco-Park, Kakching on the theme "Let's plant trees, Save trees" as part of its weekly Sunday Eco-Club programme, said press release issued by secy, ADAM.
It said that a "Nageshwor" plant was planted today in the programme to remember the wedding day of Kshetrimayum Nobo Singh, Account Officer, State Project Management Unit, Public Finance System, Imphal, Ministry of Finance, GoI and Kshetrimayum (o) Nongmaithem Sunita Devi, Lecturer (Biology), Kakching Higher Secondary School on May 19, 1997.
A "Chiku" plant was also planted to celebrate the 17th birthday of Gaitri Samurailatpam  d/o Samurailatpam Vishwaroop Sharma and Samurailatpam (o) Prameshwori Devi  of Kakching Sumang Leikai during the programme with the objective to make the earth more green, it added.
The statement further mentioned the programme to plant memorial trees at Angan Ching Eco-Park, Kakching was first started in 2015 and has been continuously observing till now.
It appealed all to plant more trees on any auspicious day or any day and shun the habit of cutting trees to make the world more beautiful and green.
