Birth anniversary of Ho Chi Minh observed

Bishnupur, May 19: The 129th birth anniversary of comrade Ho Chi Minh who is regarded as the father of Vietnam, who fought for the independence of Vietnam was observed in a simple function organized by CPI, Kumbi Local Council at Biplabi Comrade Bira Bhawan, Kumbi today.
The observance function was attended by CPI National executive member, Dr M Nara; State Secy, CPI Manipur State Council, L Sotinkumar; Deputy Secy, Kh Surchand Singh; ex-councillor, Imphal Municipal Council, Th Bhanu Devi; senior leader, CPI Kumbi Local Council, M Ibochoubi Meitei as presidium members.
The function began with paying floral tributes and respect to the photo of comrade Ho Chi Minh by the presidium members.
Speaking at the occasion, Dr M Nara said that the brave comrade fought for the independence of Vietnam from the clutch of mighty Americans and appealed the people of Manipur to follow in the path of the late leaders and adapt the work culture of Vietnamese who are the leading producer of rice.
Meanwhile, Manipur State Council, Communist Party of India also organized the same birth anniversary at Kangmong Langoljam Farming Community Hall in Konthoujam AC.
Floral tributes and respect were paid to the late leader by Dr M Nara Singh; L Sotinkumar Singh, ex-president, Manipur Loumee Lup, I Chaoba Singh and president, Programme Writers’ Assn, Manipur Council, L Rameshwor Singh.
As part of the observance function, 14 poets from different parts of the State recited poetry about his life. State Secy, L Sotinkumar Singh said that comrade Ho Chi Minh will be remembered for his exemplary leadership quality in defeating the most powerful country in the world during the Vietnam's assertion.
