CADA conducts academic awareness camp

KAKCHING, May 19 : As  part of its campaign to curb the menance of drugs and substance abuse from the State, Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA) has organised  an academic awareness programme on "effect of drugs on students" at Kakching Higher Secondary School, yesterday.
The event was attended by Elangbam Surchand, Principal, Kakching Higher Secondary School; Hijam Priyokumar, president CADA and Sorokhaibam Nena, president, CADA Kakching district committee as presidium members.
CADA 's vice president, Ningthoujam Doren and  secretary general, Geetchandra Mangang were the resource persons of the event. While speaking on the occasion, Ningthoujam Doren stated that students should not be involved in any kind of activities related to drugs or intoxicant substances but focus and channel their energy on studies. He appealed all the students to spend their time wisely.
Elangbam Surchand and Geetchandra Mangang also spoke at the event and educate the students about the ill effect of  using drugs and substance abuse on health.
During the programme, few copies of the journal "Health for Future" were given to the school authority.
