Three arrested for gang rape of transgender in Bengaluru

IMPHAL, May 20: Manipur Diaspora Bengaluru (MDB) has mentioned that the three culprits involved in the gang rape of two transgender of Manipur origin, were arrested yesterday by Koramangala police, Bengaluru City, along with the help of  Isha Pant, IPS, DCP, Southeast Bangalore & Special Nodal Officer North East, Rajesh, AM, Liaison Officer Bengaluru, Manipur and MDB.
A press release issued by MDB mentioned that after the organisation came to learn about the incident, its president and publicity secretary took up swift action by reaching out to the victims and provided all necessary support and cooperation.
Only after getting assurance from MDB, the victims decided to register a case against the rapists, it mentioned adding that the organisation has been deeply involved in all the case related activities since May 16. Strongly condemning such incidents, the MDB however, extended gratitude to all the officials and people involved in ensuring justice was served to the culprits involved.
