No change in Kohima resolution : Awangbow

IMPHAL, May 23: NPF Manipur unit president Awangbow Newmai has categorically stated that there would be no change in the party’s resolution adopted at Kohima on May 18 even if BJP returns to power at the Centre.
Speaking to The Sangai Express, Awangbow Newmai said that NPF must pull out from the Biren-led coalition Government as NPF and BJP had parted ways before the Lok Sabha election.
It is only natural for the two parties to part ways in Manipur too for they had already parted ways at the Centre, he said.
The Kohima resolution of May 18 was passed after it was agreed in-principle that NPF should pull out from the BJP-led coalition Government, Awangbow said.
On being enquired if there is any possibility of keeping the Kohima resolution in abeyance for sometime for the BJP-led NDA will return to power at the Centre, Awangbow said that the NPF president was entrusted to formally announce the Kohima resolution at a right time.
BJP will definitely form the next Government at the Centre but there is no question of withdrawing the Kohima resolution, asserted Awangbow adding that the party may hold a meeting shortly.
Notably, NPF supported the Congress candidate in the Lok Sabha election in Nagaland.
