ITANAGAR, May 24 : Arunachal Pradesh’s MLA Tirong Aboh, a National People’s Party candidate who was killed in an ambush two days ago, was declared victorious in the just-concluded election.
Aboh defeated Phawang Lowang of BJP and had won the seat with a margin of 1,055 votes.
Former Home Minister of Arunachal Pradesh and NPP leader Kumar Waii termed it a case of political rivalry and added that any political party, if found using arms during election should not be forgiven and action should be taken against them.
He added that Aboh’s victory in election was certain and the attack must have been pre-planned by his political rivals he said.
Waii said, whichever party, be it Congress, NPP or BJP; if they use militancy for political gains, they should not be forgiven. On Tuesday, Aboh and his son were among 11 people shot dead in Arunachal Pradesh’s Tirap district.
