Heritage Convent fetes meritorious students

IMPHAL, May 25: Heritage Convent, Uripok Bachaspati Leikai & Naoremthong Khu-lem Leikai today felicitated its meritorious students who excelled in the High School Leaving Certificate Exami-nation (HSLCE) 2019 con- ducted by Board of Secon-dary Education, Manipur (BSEM).
The grand felicitation ceremony was held at the school’s campus number 3 located at Haorang Sabal Leikai, Imphal West.
Arena Waikhom (15th position), Sanjenbam Erik (22nd position) and Celina Lasihram (28th) position were awarded cash prizes of Rs 1 lakh each while many other students who scored above 85 percent in the HSLCE 2019 were also honoured by presenting a laptop each.
Speaking at the function, executive director of Heritage Convent S Vikramjit Singh described felicitation of the meritorious students as a remarkable moment.
He further claimed that the school has been performing well with many students coming out with flying colours every year since the school first appeared in the HSLCE.
“It has now become a custom for students of Heritage Convent to become winners in the HSLCE as well as in other competitions”, he said.
Lauding the role taken by the teachers of the school in nurturing, guiding and making their students shine in the HSLCE, he also appreciated the students’ parents for parenting their children properly and extending cooperation to the school in shaping their children to the right direction.
While declaring that students who secure the top three positions in HSLCE will be awarded Rs five lakh or a car each from next year, the executive director also announced that the Rs 1 lakh cash prizes given to the students who could not bag top three positions but included in the top 25 positions in HSLCE will be doubled from next year .
