Student found hung to death

IMPHAL, May 25: A 23 year old student of Manipur University was found hung to death inside his room at Manipur University Boy’s hostel number 2 (Koubru Hostel) today.
According to a police report,  the deceased student has been identified as one K Lunmilal Kipgen (23) s/o K Paokhomang Kipgen of L Songphel village, Sadar Hills.
Today morning, students staying in the hostel complained about a bad smell coming from room number 26 of the hostel which was locked from inside.
On checking the room after breaking some portion of the door, Lunmilal was found dead, hanging from a fan inside the room, after which the students informed Singjamei PS.
Soon a team of Singjamei PS came and cordoned off the area while waiting for the arrival of State forensic science expert team.
Some of the students stated that they have not seen Lunmilal for the past few days and his room had remained closed since the last two days. 
The dead body was later picked up and deposited at RIMS morgue for post mortem.
Members of KSO Saikul Block and family members of the deceased also came to the site soon after they got the information about the incident.
According to police, it is highly suspected that K Lunmilal might have died a couple of days back as the body was already in a decomposed stage.
Singjamei police has registered a case regarding the incident
