    26-May-2019
IMPHAL, May 25: The All Tribal Rights’ Protection Forum Manipur (ATRPFM) has appealed to the State Government and the autho-rities concerned to take necessary actions against the culprits who allegedly col-lected huge amounts of money from ADC employees in connection with imple-mentation of pension scheme for the said employees.
A press release issued by the general secretary of ATRPFM today stated that as emtrusted by the All Manipur Autonomous District Council Retired Employees Welfare Association, the organisation had invested maximum efforts to initiate the work of ensuring payment of pension to ADC employees.
However, collection of a huge amount from the ADC employees and retired employees by unknown mis- creants has hindered the association's initiative apart from damaging its image, it stated. "We have no any connection with such collection of money from anybody", it said while demanding the State Government to take up necessary action against the wrongdoers. It may be mentioned that, in pursuant to the State Cabinet decision taken in its meeting held on December 4 last year, a pension cell for ADC employees would be created soon in the Directorate of Tribal Affairs & Hills along with engagement of manpower which is a great achievement for the employees of ADCs and also for the ATRPFM.
The scheme for payment of pension to ADC employees was introduced and further amendment was made as well, it added. However, the said scheme has been abandoned without any implementation till date.
The amount necessary for payment of pension to ADC employees was also reflected in the last budget. But no payment has been made and so ATRPFM pursued the matter as it was necessary.  In the meantime, the association came across a news item published in local dailies and found some other official evidences that some miscreants had indeed collected money without any reason.  As such it further urged the State Government to take legal action against the culprits, failing which it will initiate necessary course of action, warned the statement.
