IMPHAL, May 26 : The election Model Code of Conduct which was enforced in connection with the 17th Lok Sabha election, has finally been lifted.
In accordance with the removal of the MCC, a notice regarding the same was also sent to the office of the Chief Secretary and Chief Electoral Officer by the Secretary of Election Commission of India, Ajoy Kumar.
According to a reliable source, the schedule of the 17th Lok Sabha election was announced on March 10 and  the MCC came into effect from the same day as well.
The Inner and Outer election in the State was held on April 11 and April 18 respectively.
As the processes concerning the declaration of the Lok Sabha election and the bye election have been completed, the MCC has been lifted, the source added.
