On completing 15 years of service... Raj Medicity lines up free OPD

IMPHAL, Jun 15: As a part of the completion of 15 years of providing health care to the people under the theme 'Humanitarian service with dedication' by Raj Medicity, the  institution is planning to organise the 3rd Raj Medicity Week from tomorrow to June 22.
Speaking to media persons today,  Raj Medicity chairman and Managing Director H Rajen said that the hospital has always been extending a helping hand to the people as well as NGOs, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) scheme in situations like natural calamities, social issues, violence etc.
Stating that the poor people of the State find it difficult to cope whenever illness strikes, he said that to extend a helping hand, the 3rd Raj Medicity Week will be held from tomorrow to June 22.
During the said week, free OPD facilities will be available from 10 am to 2 pm everyday and small and medium operations will be performed free of cost.
Stating that everyone will be presented the said opportunities,  Rajen said that he wishes for the poor people to take more advantage of the benefits.
Speaking about the doctors and faculty who will be available during the free period, the MD said that surgical oncology, urology, general surgery, ENT, Obs and Gynae doctors will be available.
However, he clarified that the cost of investigation and medication will still be borne by the patients themselves.
The doctors will also fix the time for the small and medium surgeries but there is no rule that the surgeries have to be performed during the week, he added.
On the second day (June 17) OPD will not be opened as there is a protest of the Indian Medical Association and only the in patient and emergency patients will be treated.
The last day, June 22, is reserved for only media persons, he said adding that CMHT, PMJAY card holders can get treated free of costs at Raj Medicity and six special beds are reserved for the said card holders in the hospital.
He then added that during the said week, all card holders of CMHT and PMJAY will be given due benefits by the hospital.
