IMPHAL, Jun 15 : Committee of Civil Societies Kangleipak (CCSK) has maintained that the current power struggle ongoing between leaders of the present Government, by completely ignoring the real issues and problems of the State, is disappointing and rather unfortunate.
Speaking to media persons at CCSK office in New Checkon today, president of the committee Jitendra Ningomba stated that the month of June, July and August are considered as the time when most of the major issues erupt and people face suffering and grievances in the State.
He said that the price of the indigenous rice has touched sky high rate at Rs 50 per kg and added that the scarcity of rice also usually happens during these months.
Notably, the present generation are getting reading to commemorate the sacrifice and courage of the 18 martyrs who fought hard to save the motherland and to protect the integrity of the State, which clearly shows that the people are still rooting for protection and preservation of the integrity of Manipur.
On the other hand, instead of giving assent to the Manipur People Bill 2018, the NDA Govt is planning to introduce the CAB once again, Jitendra added.
At times like these when issues and major problems are on the verge of explosion, threatening the peaceful existence of the people of the State, the power struggle among the leaders is making the people furious.
He maintained that major spaces in local dailies are being filled with such news which the people are less concerned about,  compared to other current problems of Manipur.
Jitendra urged all the political leaders to think about the consequences of such actions, which have been manipulated by the Central Government, and rather focus on the important issues at hand.
He reminded the State Government and all the political leaders to remember the June 18 incident if they desire to act on their own whims and fancies against the sentiments of the people and warned that the State Government should be held responsible for any unwanted incidents if it fails to do so.
