IMPHAL, Jun 15: A JAC was formed in connection with the death of one Khangembam Booster (27) s/o Kh Damo of Kwakeithel Konjeng Leikai on June 11 and the JC has demanded the State Government to deliver justice to the deceased and the family members at the earliest.
Speaking to The Sangai Express, the brother of the deceased, Kh Priyobarta said that Booster had gone out in the evening of June 11 after taking some money from him (Priyobarta) for buying clothes.
However, after he failed to return even till late night, the concerned family members called up Booster's number at around 9.15 pm. The phone rang for a few seconds before it became unreachable.
Priyobarta continued that the family members brushed aside the matter and thought that Booster would return somewhat late. But, at around 1.30 am, one of Booster's friends identified as Sanatomba called them up and told them to rush to RIMS as he had been rushed to the hospital in a critical condition.
When the family members reached RIMS it was seen that personnel of  Lamshang PS had brought Booster to the hospital covered with a white cloth, Priyobarta said, adding that Sanatomba is also currently under treatment in the ICU.
Priyobarta continued that Lamshang PS has registered a case in connection with his brother's death and in the case, it is reported that there was a 99 percent chance that Booster died and Sanatomba was injured due to self accident.
However, there are many inconsistencies like presence of some paint scraps on the Activa which was driven by Booster and Sanatomba which seemed to be from another vehicle due to a collision, lack of any bruises on the head and faces of both the individuals, Booster's phone ringing and then going silent (unreachable), his (Booster) SIM card being found inserted upside down into his phone etc which brings the report mentioned in the police case into question, Priyobarta alleged.
On the other hand, JAC convenor W Shanti Devi alleged that Booster's death is highly suspicious and demanded the State Government to look into the matter at the earliest and deliver the much needed justice.
