Finance may return to Dy CM

IMPHAL, Jun 16: Deputy Chief Minister Y Joykumar may get back Finance portfolio although he was stripped of the same portfolio in the wake of the restrictions imposed by the RBI on State Government’s financial transactions after the State Government ran into an overdraft of Rs 274.48 crore. 
Apart from Finance, Power and Works Departments were also taken over by Chief Minister N Biren after the last two departments were divested from Th Biswajit.
The four NPP Ministers of the State held a meeting with party president Conrad Sangma at Delhi today and deliberated on the State’s political crisis and also the matter of relieving Y Joykumar of the charge of Finance Department.
The meeting also discussed party affairs.
Meanwhile, one key leader of NPP said that the Finance portfolio may be given back to the Deputy Chief Minister.
On the other hand, one NPF leader said that the political crisis besieging the coalition Government is an internal matter of BJP and NPF would not be a part of the crisis.
The NPF leader informed that the party would continue its support to the BJP-led coalition Government.
