IMPHAL, Jun 16: Rebel BJP MLAs who have been camping at Delhi have stated Chief Minister N Biren did meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi but it was just a courtesy call as done by Chief Ministers of other States who came to Delhi to attend a meeting of NITI Aayog.
All the BJP Chief Ministers were giving courtesy calls to Narendra Modi on becoming the country’s Prime Minister for the second consecutive term.
The courtesy call was no place or time to talk about the State’s political crisis. As such, the Prime Minister did not say any word whether the State’s political leadership will remain or not, said the rebel camp.
The Prime Minister did not give any assurance that there would be no change to the State’s political leadership nor has the Chief Minister made any contradictory claim. It was some people with vested interest who were misinterpreting the courtesy call, said the rebel MLAs.
Taking serious note of the State’s political crisis, BJP National president held a meeting with BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) Ramlal and General Secretary (Coordination & North East in-charge) Ram Madhav today and deliberated on the crisis.
It is expected that the meeting adopted certain significant decisions even though the decisions many not be implemented hastily in view of the oath taking ceremony of newly elected MPs and the Parliament session which begins tomorrow, said the rival camp.
